Marbo brand history
From simple everyday bags, to school and hiking backpacks - to the highest quality medical bags valued in the market. This is the story of Marbo - a company with family traditions. Marbo is a Polish brand founded by Marek and Bożena Ulikowski. It was from the owners' first names that the company's name was created, with origins dating back to the 1980s.
Starachowice, located in the Świętokrzyskie province, is where Marbo's first manufacturing plant was established on Górna Street. Over the years, it has been expanded and developed in terms of technology, production and storage, but still invariably in the same place. It was here that the company's history began and continues to form.
Decades of production and development have led us to where we are today - as leading manufacturers of well-known and trusted medical products.
At Marbo we value people above all, they are the ones who make up the team that will meet all expectations and create a top quality product with attention to every detail.
From the very beginning of the company's operations, we focus on strengthening relationships between employees and those in the company's immediate environment, which is why we organize periodic meetings or team-building trips for employees, who are an integral part of the success of the entire company.
Several employees work in the rooms of the house specially arranged and adapted for the production of the first everyday bags or aprons. This is how the production beginnings of the company look like.
Marbo's larger-scale operations are beginning. Its basic scope includes the production of cosmetic bags and employee aprons.
The end of the 1980s is one of the turning points, as the first production line of tourist and sports bags and backpacks opens. They are characterized by excellent durability, wide availability and a wide range of colors.
Production until 1999 is based on the machines of the then leader in sales and production of sewing machines - Lucznik.
Marbo products continue to gain popularity and have crowds of supporters, hosting in the homes of many Poles and accompanying them not only during travel and tourist trips, but also on the way to school or work. Our products can be found in more than 1,000 stores and wholesalers across the country.
The new millennium for our company is a time of dynamic development and innovation. We decide to expand our production and storage facilities with a newly constructed building of more than 2,000 sqm. A novelty in the production process is the introduction of 600/600 fabric and the expansion of the machinery park with machines from the renowned Dürkopp Adler brand.
The development of a range of travel products, school and sports backpacks and laptop briefcases.
Another breakthrough is the creation of the first models of medical bags. The flagship products with which our brand is very much associated are the TRM-2 medical bag and the TRM-45 backpack first-aid kit. These are the ones that have achieved great success on the Polish and foreign markets due to their functionality.
In the constant pursuit of ambitious challenges and projects, as well as all production tasks, a huge role is played by Ewa Kaminska, who as early as 1994 takes the position of production manager and chief designer.
In her studio, precisely refined designs of new products, all sketches and concepts are created. What distinguishes Ms. Ewa as chief designer is the combination of education, experience and creativity, as well as an artistic sense and understanding of the functionality and purpose of products already in the process of their creation. As head of production, the designer is well aware of the design process and understands the relationship between the function and design of new models of bags and backpacks.
To make the company more competitive, we participate in trade shows and numerous events/events. Our product range is expanded with new models of bags, medical backpacks and accessories necessary for the work of a doctor, paramedic or nurse.
The next stage of the company's evolution is a change in strategy. Focusing production on medical bags, while aiming to expand into foreign markets. Moving away from the production of satchels, school backpacks and travel bags, in favor of medical bags.
